what did i learn?

researching about Haliç Shipyard and maritime culture in İstanbul, learning the relation between sea and the sky, learning how a shipyard works; learning how to create spaces that connect a shipyard, maritime culture and sky events; exploring modularity and open spaces.

master plan: haliç shipyard was the subject of the project. the modifications aimed to balance preserving the site’s industrial heritage and public engagement.
left is before, right is after. programs and functions were changed. with the use of scaffolding and temporary platforms, the haliç shipyard was approached with a conscious and protective attitude. by considering different programs within the shipyard, an attempt was made to increase the public use of this place.
