what did i learn?

this studio was focusing on artificial intelligence and its effects on architecture. as this was kind of a research project, dealing with the design process was different from anything I’ve done. an interesting process. trying to deal with polar climate and its extreme problems.

master plan: understanding the unique conditions of svalbard and the characteristics of crevasses. choosing one to cover and settle.
these crevasses always move, that is why the structure covering it must be adaptive. flexibility is provided by the inflatable volumes under the glacier, and the upper cover that controls them provides stability.
